Using Positive Psychology in the Work Place

Many people are unhappy at work. Some feel under-appreciated and overworked. Some feel they never get around to the tasks they really want to do. Some find the pace so stressful or the hours so long that they never have a chance to relax. Some think that the goals set for them are impossible. Some have contacts with other people that are corrosive and dispiriting. Some find the focus is always on what they do wrong, seldom on what they do right. Many believe there is nothing they can do to make things better. It does not have to be this way.

Positive Psychology suggests ways that individuals can make work more satisfying and engaging for themselves and the people around them without waiting for those in power to make changes. An organisation's greatest assets are its people's strengths. But these assets are not well understood or managed. Everyone has strengths, but not everyone is clear about what their strengths are and how to capitalise on them. Critically for some organisations, managers are often the least able to do this.

Strengths-based organisations offer a clear route to enhancing the contribution and engagement of employees with multiple benefits for the organisation. We will work with you to identify these strengths and help drive business improvement through more focussed, happier, productive staff.
